can only come with time.
I'm so amazed that Josh loves me enough he gave up his dream job of becoming a surgeon. It has been a huge sacrifice of his talent and interests. He believed he could be happy in pathology. He knew me and the kids would be.
And, I'm amazed that I love him enough to tell him it is okay to switch back. And it is, it really is. I know it will be hard. Leaving Arkansas will be tearful. But it will be right.
We celebrate 10 years next month. I don't think we could have made such decisions starting out. With time, love is stronger, patience comes, sacrifice is worth it.
I'm looking forward to seeing Josh have a very successful career as a surgeon (after all!)
We don't know details as to where or when his training will start up again for surgery, but it will happen at the right place in the right time. He is setting up interviews.

He did good, he did.
This is the beauty that became my "new" wedding ring after I lost my band in the lake last summer. I was upset-it was MY wedding ring of eight years!
But, I love the new one. It is from Pandora and we found it together one night. I love that is has great shine, and a very low profile.
I've always been self conscious with my birth defect on that hand, and Josh has always handled it perfectly-encouraging me to wear something, but understanding why I need something simple.
I think we found the perfect ring for us.
He took me to the beautiful Franklin Park Conservatory with orchids in bloom and proposed.
This time on one knee! We skipped that the first time!
His gold band looks beautiful when we hold hands, and I feel married all over again.

Warming my Heart and Day
Last Thursday was a very cold winter day.
And the 33rd anniversary of my birth.
When it is 12 degrees outside, you appreciate these in a whole new way!
Thank you, Josh. I love you!

A mom describes her feelings when son looses a tooth..
And I am feeling very sentimental.
And I'm not going to apologize for it. I just am going to add it to my list of things I didn't know would happen when I took on motherhood.
No one warned me that when your six year old looses a top tooth, that the mom feels like she looses her baby- and gains a BOY!
He is my oldest, but he was my first baby. Come on! I can't believe how he looks so much like a BOY--a real, true, BOY! My baby days are gone forever with him. And I miss my Landino-Bambino.
and I am in mourning.
Orlando was a colicky, difficult baby. But he was the most beautiful one I had ever seen. And I was determined to protect him and love him. When I gave up teaching it was hard. No one warned me how hard it would be to become a mother. I thought often on how I just wasn't good at it. I had no natural talent it seemed.
But I've grown.
I'm still not good at it always, but I understand more. I understand that the joys I find in motherhood ARE sweeter than any other. That time spent with my children IS precious.
And I am also learning this week, with the help of a tooth, that YES they really do grow up fast.
So I sound like the old ladies in the supermarket.
And I sound like my mother-in-law.
And I sound like (gasp) my mother.
And these women are right.
And so am I! So to all of you who have a baby tonight, I say:
Love your babies, they grow up so fast!!

I lost it.
My wedding ring. It happened on my trip to Oklahoma. It is in lake Fort Gibson. Let me know if you find it.
I was going to write more, but this is just too darn depressing. I thought it would get better with time, but it really STINKS.
However, I'm writing this because tonight Josh and I are going ring shopping/browsing. I can't replace the one I wore on our wedding day, or to gave birth to three boys in, lived in five different homes, and made countless meals, laundry loads, hugs, and hand holds...
But, I can have fun walking in with Josh and pretending to be newly engaged. Maybe we'll pretend to be that couple that lived together for so long before he could get around to it, the couple who grew up going to primary together, the couple who is pregnant (no I'm not, but it'd be fun to let the clerk think so) hmmm what else? I guess we could bring the kids and tell them it was a second marriage or we are finally ready to commit?
Some things cannot be replaced. But, after another 7.5 years, I can love it just as much and after 50 even more!
Anyhoo, wish me luck. It may bomb out if so that's okay, because we are going to get dinner as well.

Hi, my name is lion.
For those of you who haven't met me my name is Lion. I am more loved than anyone can imagine because I belong to Orlando. Lando takes me everywhere. Here we are at the arch in St. Louis.

I've ended up in many family photos. My tail has been chewed nearly off. And I actually lost my nose on the last road trip. Luckily Lando's dad knows how to operate, and he put it back on!! Too bad no one took pictures of that one! Oh, and Lando was crying when he saw dad put a needle in me--he didn't want me to hurt. But, he WAS glad that I would get my nose back.

Lando can, like all children, get angry. This is when I really shine. No one helps him calm down quicker than me! It is my specialty. I know Lando loves me very much. He has tried to feed me ice cream and cereal. At one time I even had a place at the table. He also has taught me to say my own prayers. He dances with me, turns me in flips, and today I was part of a parachute project. He cuddles with me every night, and I have my own voice and can answer questions!!
So what could I want more than Orlando? Not a thing. You see, I love him too!
