Oh Boy!

Oh boy
oh boy
oh boy
OH BOY!!!

I am so sad. Not because I'll have a son. My sons are amazing and my relationships with them so tender, but I'm sad I won't have a daughter. For several reasons, some more personal than others, this is probably the last kiddo for our family. I always wanted a daughter and so I am in mourning. I'll get over it (today is already better than yesterday). Still I cried. And I chose the restaurant where we ate. And bought myself a new Christmas picture that I really love.
Josh is fine with a fourth son. Would've liked a daughter, but doesn't feel it in the same way as me.
Boys are estactic. Ready to wrestle him already.

I'm tired of blue. What have you seen cute for boys? Camo? Cowboy? Other ideas? We've done sports, and dinos, and trains-I need something different this go around...

OH!!! I have no words! I suppose that Heavenly Father just knows who needs to be in your family...and look forward to the wonderful daughters in law and granddaughters you are sure to have! And you know...boys can still wear pink!

awww! I'm sorry Lara! :( I do know that boy clothes have definitely gotten cuter over the past few years. They are way cuter than 5 years ago when Ryan was born, that's for sure! I went baby shopping for a few baby boys recently and started getting boy hungry! :) I hope you are able to find something cute and different this go.

Oh Lara, I am so sorry you are dissapointed. All I can say is you have such darling boys and Heavenly Father must trust you so much to raise four priesthood holders! Hugs!

I know you'll love your new son with everything you have, but it's also perfectly fine to mourn what won't be.

As for decorations... You could do animals (zoo, Noah's ark). You could do flying things. You could do oceans and fish. You could do bears.

I had a YW leader who had five boys and who always wanted a girl. When her youngest was almost a teenager they ended up adopting a girl and several more after that! She always said that she had dreams of girls waiting for her in the pre-existence and that she just needed to find a way to get them into their family!

Anyways, I don't have any great ideas for the boy theme since I don't have any yet. Reed's put in his orders for this next baby.

WOW! I'm sorry for the let down! I always mourn a little when I find out because no matter what you get there is always that other spirit that could have been. Just think girls (if like mine) can be just as rambucious with a little extra emotion added in! Gotta love kids, right!

Just think positive: you'll get four daughters one day (when your boys get married)! And you got to miss all the drama that goes with a girl and you most likely won't have to pay for a wedding!
